Fargesia robusta Campbell. Clumping hardy bamboos pot plants. Plant at anytime of the year!
Fargesia robusta Campbell
This is a good choice for a clumping bamboo to create a narrow screen, being taller, more upright, and more robust than other Fargesia.
It has dark green foliage and light green canes, with new shoots that are hairy and rusty red upon emergence from the ground in early spring.
The cane sheaths persist and soon fade to a light colour, almost white, giving the stems a very attractive checkerboard look in the spring through early summer.
This bamboo is more sun tolerant than most other Fargesia, quick growing without being invasive and extremely hardy.
Eventual height is around 4m in 10 years.
