Lavandula angustifolia Hidcote (Improved). English Lavender Hidcote.
An excellent dwarf lavender with very dark purple flowers and narrow grey green leaves. Can be used a low hedge.
Suitable for borders and containers, in sun, on well drained soils.
Flowers from summer until the first hard frosts.
Height: Approximately up to 45cm / 18 inches.
Water well before planting and until established. Prune in late summer after flowering.
Culinary uses: Add flowers to soups, stews and salads. Foliage is highly scented.
In cultivation since the mid sixteenth century.
