When mature it is not detrimental to snip the odd piece off and bring inside to bring the scent inside to fill the house of this magical lily-like scent.
Best planted near the house or on the pathway to the house to enjoy the fragrance of the flowers.
Flowering time: January to March (depending on weather) Pale pink flowers open from purple-pink buds, dark green leaves.
Garden care: Keep pruning to a minimum since the plant is susceptible to die-back. Where necessary after flowering, very lightly trim to remove misplaced branches and to maintain a compact habit.
Position: full sun or partial shade.
Soil: moderately fertile, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Resents transplanting.
Rate of growth: slow-growing.
Hardiness: Hardy when planted in the ground and mulched annually. Not hardy if container grown, therefore bring inside / protect.
