Red Clumping bamboos Asian Wonder Fargesia 15 Litre pots 180cm Pallet Deals
Recently introduced from China, this bamboo is becoming a popular variety thanks to it's graceful appearance with arching canes, and unusual colouration.
The new canes emerge somewhere between orange-red and crimson-plum in colour, maturing to olive green.
In its native habitat this bamboo provides food to the Giant Panda.
Fargesia scabrida ‘Asian Wonder’ is very hardy and can be used as specimen, for hedges and screens and as a garden potted plant.
When used as pot plant ample water has to be provided in dry conditions.
It is clump-forming with narrow green leaves throughout the year and looks good on it's own or in groups.
It's happy in most soils and situations, even shade but preferably not a dry, sun-baked spot.
Please note: We grow our bamboos in partial shade, therefore they do not have red stems on them now, if you plant / place your bamboo in a full sun location (south or west) the stems in time will turn red from being exposed to afternoon sun, you will need to water them regularly.
