Phyllostachys vivax Inversa. RHS Award of Garden Merit. (10 Litre 150-200cm)
One of our favorite bamboos and the mother of Phyllostachys vivax Aureocaulis, therefore it has the same characteristics but instead of having yellow canes it has dark emerald canes with nice thick yellow stripes down the canes. Is a tidy and upright with the foliage higher up the plant so showing the thick canes off to good effect. Very Hardy.
A very good bamboo to block out the neighbours above the fence line!
Soil:acid, Alkaline or Neutral. Moist but well-drained or well-drained.
Aspect: West or South facing.Sheltered.
Suggested Plant Uses: Architectural, Hedging/Screens.
Pruning: Remove spent stems and thin to show off stems to best effect.
