Alocasia macrorrizhos Black Stem
This is a stunning beauty with ebony stems. The leaves are dark green, slightly reticulated above and pale whitish with black veins underneath.
Can get huge in habitat (4m) but smaller when containerised, with large shield-shaped green leaves. It defines the term architectural and is amazingly tough for a tropical plant. Likes lashings of water when active, but keep it dry in winter to prevent rot.
Country Of Origin: Borneo, Malaysia.
